Kate Osterback

Civil Fellow

Kate is the Civil Legal Fellow. She is a recent graduate of Ohio State’s Moritz College of Law, where she focused on public interest work and civil litigation. During law school, Kate gained experience at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, Legal Aid, and Equality Ohio. Before that, she worked in state and local government helping solve real-world problems for everyday people. She’s passionate about making the law feel less overwhelming for everyone, especially those who feel like they have been left behind by the legal system.

Originally from Spokane, Washington, Kate married into a midwestern family. Now a proud Buckeye, she still has not memorized all the words to “Carmen Ohio.” She loves visiting state and national parks, baking, her golden retriever Sansa, and Pacific Northwest sports.
